This Monday, January 27th, we will gather at the South Coastal Library in Bethany Beach at 6:30 PM. Our guest speaker will be Doug Hudson, the newly appointed President of the Sussex County Council. Congratulations, Doug! Since our last meeting, numerous issues have emerged concerning the Sussex County Council. These include the decision not to approve the conditional use of an electric substation for bringing energy from a foreign-owned offshore wind farm ashore, and the significant announcement of a possible building moratorium in Sussex County by newly elected County Councilman, Matt Lloyd.
We will also hear from Jen Pawloski, who requested that the Bethany Beach Town Council disclose information about its confidential meetings with US Wind through a FOIA request. Attorney General Kathleen Jennings recently ruled that the Bethany Beach Town Council failed to meet their obligation to fulfill this request and has ordered the town to comply. Read more here. "Join us for a 3-part lecture series examining the origins and evolution of the political parties in the UNITED STATES. Dr. Bill Gudelunas , will explain our two-party system, including the different parties over the years, their platforms and candidates, before bringing our attention to the modern-day. We will also learn some of the historical and current third parties.Â
