Indian River School District Referendum ROUND TWO June 5

There will be another IRSD referendum vote on Thursday, June 5th. Please make plans to vote and consider volunteering as a Poll Watcher; we need Poll Watchers! The vote involves a 30% increase in property taxes. Voters do not need to be registered to vote in Delaware but must provide proof of address within the school district. Second homeowners are eligible to vote in this referendum, but according to Delaware law, they must declare that their Delaware residence is their "domicile," or primary residence. Second homeowners may face challenges from poll workers if their driver's license is from another state or shows a different address. However, they can still claim primary residence in the district by providing proof of address and signing an affirmation of primary residence.

You can request an Absentee Ballot Here. Just specify for Referendum.

Indian River School Board Elections

If you live in the 38th District (IRSD District 4) there will not be an election for voters for IRSD District 4 this year, as Michelle Parsons is running unopposed.

There will be a School Board Election for District 1, which is the Georgetown area. There are three candidates for two positions. See candidates here.

Same link to request an Absentee Ballot. Just specify for School Board Election.
