Laken Riley Act - Contact Sen Coons Today!

Wow, what an amazingly successful event sponsored by the DE GOP Friday night! We had two champions of women's rights meet with us sharing their experiences and the bold paths both of them have ventured on, as they have been forced to protect themselves from radical left wokism and in extension, protect all Americans. What they shared was real, it was heartfelt, and at times difficult to hear their pain, but their individual journeys of finding their inner strength and ability to not only go on, but go beyond, were inspiring! The 38th District Republicans were able to attend this fantastic event and we thank our Delaware Republican Chair, Julianne Murray, and Executive Officer, Nick Miles for making this happen, thank you!

Laken Riley

Laken Riley Act Vote Monday January 13th

This bill addresses federal policy related to the murder of Laken Riley, a 22 year old nursing student, who was murdered by an illegal alien on the University of Georgia's campus in February 2024. Her murderer had been previously cited for committing a theft crime. This law would have allowed local law enforcement to call ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcment) to have him detained. If this had occurred, Laken Riely would now be alive. The proposed bill would amend federal law to require ICE to issue detainers and take custody of illegal aliens who commit crimes.

Our single Delaware House Representative, Tim/Sarah McBride voted NO on this bill. Despite this repugnant vote that goes against human decency to protect American citizens, the bill passed the House. It now goes before the Senate this Monday, January 13th. Please email Senator Chris Coons or call his office at 202-224-5042. Want more of an impact? Fax him at 202-228-3075.

Dear Senator,

as you represent Delaware and all American citizens, please vote YES to the Laken Riley Act, so that our Law Enforcement may be able to detain non-citizens who have committed crimes, just as American citizens are detained for suspected crimes, before they can flee from justice, or worse, commit a crime that ends with the death of one of our precious American citizens.

I look forward to hearing your response regarding this vote.
