What Are the Early Voting Results So Far?

Today was an AMAZING first day of Early Voting and voters came out like I have NEVER seen before on any election day in Delaware. Lines were long with patient, calm yet determined voters up and down the state in every county. Sussex led the state in voter turnout, of course, with triple the voter turnout as New Castle County (NCC) despite NCC having triple the population as Sussex!

First Day Early Voting Turnout

County Early Votes

Sussex 8,865

NCC 3,129

Kent 2,508

Total 14,502

What is happening here in Delaware is also happening across the Nation with record high early voting turnout. We won't know the breakdown of how voters fell across party lines until the DOE makes it daily Early Voting report sometime tomorrow and we will report it as soon we get those numbers!

Despite a huge success in voter turnout, there were also problems that came up, which makes it even more important to be sure to vote early. We've received complaints from some of our 38th voters who showed up at the polls to find out that they were no longer registered to vote, despite having a polling location card and having lived here for decades. Many voters have requested absentee ballots weeks ago and have still not received them, while after investigation our records show that they are not recorded to even receive an absentee ballot. It makes it so much harder to get the necessary paper work done in time as it gets closer and closer to November 5th. So please voter EARLY, do not wait until November 5th!
