Wind Warriors vs US Wind, June 5, Lewes, Homestretch!

Updated: May 26

Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) will be holding a pro-offshore windfarm meeting Wednesday June 5, 4:00pm, at the Beacon Middle School in Lewes, 19483 John J. Williams Hwy. DNREC has selected the more liberal left leaning town of Lewes this time to showcase their ally in destroying our Delaware coast, US Wind, hoping that fewer folks that oppose these blades of destruction will not attend this early meeting. So for those of you who love Delaware, our marine life, our beautiful beaches, secure coastline, and want green energy that only makes sense, instead of death, destruction and higher costs, then YOU need to attend this meeting, so DNREC and foreign owned US Wind can't create a narrative that the population is indifferent and actually welcomes offshore wind turbines and destroying our protected State Park at 3R's beach for the onboarding of the huge high voltage electric cables that they plan to burrow into the protected State park, for profit, for themselves, not for the people.

The key to killing the US Wind project (and Orsted coming back) is for DNREC to deny their state permits or request for more studies or re-routing of the cables.   Any delay will probably have US WIND pull out of the project.  They are bleeding tons of cash to high bond interest payments that they did not expect.  They are hoping to get the project started sooner than later so the Public Utility Commissions (PUC) can allow utilities to start charging Delawareans and Maryland residents exorbitant electric rates. The PUC's are on the hook to the Governors etc. to make their "deals" with the wind farms come to fruition.

The 38th and all our coastal troops from all walks of life must rally to achieve STANDING ROOM ONLY attendance and flood the entrance with lots of signs opposing this godforsaken plan. We need to show up in huge numbers to let DNREC know there is overwhelming public opinion in opposition to this disastrous plan.   Unfortunately this has become political now with Democrats pushing way too expensive "green" projects. They are hell bent on funding and approving offshore wind farms regardless of the unknown risks to our ocean ecology and could care less about costs to ratepayers.   All this just to be on board with Biden's green energy goals that we coastal residents had no say in but supposedly shouldn't have issue with.  This and the next public comment forum in July are our only hope to hammer some sense into DNREC (a difficult feat) to save our 3R's beach and IR bay.  And Ocean City will be extremely happy if the state parks cable landing is denied!
